چکیده

We study the question of the validity of the Snake Lemma in a P-semi-abelian category. We also obtain a generalization of the Snake Lemma in a quasi-abelian category. Mathematics Subject Classification: 18A20, 18E05.

A Characterization of Long Exact Sequences Coming from the Snake Lemma

0 → Ker f1 → Ker f2 → Ker f3 → Coker f1 → Coker f2 → Coker f3 → 0, where f = (f1, f2, f3) is a suitable homomorphism between short exact sequences in A? This question is an instance of a more general problem. Let D(A) be the derived bounded category of A. We ignore the possible set-theoretic difficulties mentioned in [5, §2.2], because in what we intend to do with D(A) here they do not play any...

Index Theory

Lecture Notes taken by Nilufer Koldan In this lecture I will describe one of the most significant achievements of the second half of the XX century – the Atiyah-Singer index theorem. I will also discuss some more recent developments in the area as well as some open problems. 1. The definition of the index 1.1. The finite-dimensional case. Let A : V 1 → V 2 be a linear map between finite dimensi...

Eccentricity Sequence and the Eccentric Connectivity Index of Two Special Categories of Fullerenes

In this paper, we calculate the eccentric connectivity index and the eccentricity sequence of two infinite classes of fullerenes with 50 + 10k and 60 + 12k (k in N) carbon atoms.

The Geometry of Determinant Line Bundles in Noncommutative Geometry

This paper is concerned with the study of the geometry of determinant line bundles associated to families of spectral triples parametrized by the moduli space of gauge equivalent classes of Hermitian connections on a Hermitian finite projective module. We illustrate our results with some examples that arise in noncommutative geometry. Introduction In the mid 1990s, Connes and Moscovici [4] form...

A generalization of Martindale's theorem to $(alpha, beta)-$homomorphism

Martindale proved that under some conditions every multiplicative isomorphism between two rings is additive. In this paper, we extend this theorem to a larger class of mappings and conclude that every multiplicative $(alpha, beta)-$derivation is additive.
